The new RGV wireless charging solution has been implemented! WIRELESSPT's magnetic coupling technology has solved the problem of power supply for RGV trolleys on tracks.

In scenarios such as vertical storage, automotive welding assembly, lithium battery PACK production lines, and raw material storage areas, RGV rail-guided trolleys rely on fixed tracks to transport materials and are key equipment in automated production lines. The traditional RGV mainly adopts three power supply modes: sliding contact line collectors, cables, and on-board batteries. However, issues such as friction wear, sparking leakage, and high maintenance costs have always hindered RGV from achieving 7×24-hour uninterrupted unmanned operation. Industry statistics show that for a 500-meter length sliding contact line system, the annual maintenance and carbon brush replacement costs can reach 510,000 yuan; the drag cable structure will break and fray after 3-6 months, and a single failure directly causes the entire production line to stop. WIRELESSPT, relying on a complete industrial wireless charging product matrix of 180W to 6000W, has launched a dedicated non-contact wireless charging solution for RGVs, without modifying the original tracks, using a fragmented and nearby charging mode to replace the outdated power supply system of sliding contact lines and drag cables. This solution has already served many vertical storage and intelligent manufacturing factories.

The core pain points of the traditional RGV power supply modes:

1. Sliding contact line collector solution: The carbon brushes continuously rub against the rails, constantly generating metal dust, which easily contaminates lithium batteries and semiconductor production materials; the carbon brushes are consumable parts and need to be replaced regularly; in humid and dusty environments, the rails oxidize and rust, resulting in poor contact and intermittent power outages and sparking, posing a high-risk of explosion in hazardous workshops, and the entire track requires regular manual inspection and maintenance.

2. Drag cable follow-up power supply: The RGV moves back and forth dragging the cable, repeatedly bending and rubbing, and the sheath is prone to damage and leakage; once the cable is damaged, the entire production line must stop for replacement, severely disrupting the production rhythm, and is only suitable for short-distance tracks, completely unusable for long-distance tracks.

3. Centralized battery recharge mode: After RGV runs out of power, it must return to a dedicated charging station for long-term charging, causing operation interruptions; heavy RGVs have large battery capacities and long charging times, frequent deep charging and discharging accelerate battery aging, and multiple RGV fleets will also experience charging queues, resulting in an equipment utilization rate of only about 65%.

The WIRELESSPT RGV wireless charging solution provides multiple power output levels of 1200W, 3000W, and 4500W to adapt to light, standard, and heavy-duty RGVs. The full-load vertical charging distance is 0.80mm, the X-axis maximum offset is ±50mm, and the Y-axis is ±10mm. The RGV track stop positioning has an error of millimeters, and no additional high-precision positioning mechanism is required; it can start charging automatically when it stops at the pre-installed wireless charging base at the track stop point; it supports two charging modes: close proximity charging and controlled startup via 485/CAN instructions. The full-load transmission efficiency is up to 87%, and the power factor is ≥0.98. The transmitter and receiver have an IP67 fully sealed aluminum alloy housing, operating within a temperature range of 40℃ to +60℃; the explosion-proof version has Ex mb II C T6 gas and dust dual explosion-proof certifications, meeting safety requirements for lithium batteries and raw material storage areas. The hardware is divided into integrated and split types, supporting surface and embedded installation, and old equipment can be retrofitted without modifying the track body, with a short construction period and no impact on the normal production of the production line.

The core innovation points of the solution: Distributed point-based fragmented charging. At the stop points of the RGV tracks and the material handling positions, pre-install wireless charging base stations. The RGV automatically completes charging during the waiting intervals between loading and unloading, without the need to return to a long-distance charging room. When the battery level is low, it can stop nearby and charge nearby, eliminating the time loss caused by long-distance empty driving and charging. The system is equipped with 2.4G radio frequency communication, which can be connected to WMS and MES scheduling systems, uploading voltage, current, and a complete set of fault codes in real time, with multiple levels of automatic protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, and overtemperature, remote fault warnings, and no need for on-site personnel maintenance. Components such as carbon brushes, collector plates, and traction cables, which are prone to damage, have an average fault-free operating time of over 50,000 hours for the equipment, significantly reducing the annual maintenance costs.

A three-dimensional warehouse for automotive parts, originally equipped with 22 heavy-duty RGVs powered by sliding contact lines, required replacing carbon brushes and cleaning slide rails every month, with an annual maintenance expenditure of 82,000 yuan. After implementing the WIRELESSPT 3000W RGV wireless charging distributed power replenishment solution, all carbon brush spare parts were eliminated, the equipment online rate increased from 72% to 98.5%, and there were no more unexpected shutdowns due to sliding contact line wear. The renovation cost was recovered within 13 months. The explosion-proof model was adopted in the lithium battery raw material warehouse RGV project, completely eliminating the safety risks of friction and sparking from sliding contact lines, and successfully passing the safety supervision and compliance inspections.

With the upgrading of intelligent manufacturing, RGV equipment is rapidly evolving towards a trend of fewer personnel and black-light production lines. The shortcomings of outdated power supply methods relying on physical contact, such as sliding contact lines and traction cables, have become increasingly prominent. The WIRELESSPT RGV wireless charging solution takes into account both new projects and the renovation of existing equipment, covering power supply from light-load sorting RGVs to tonnage heavy-load track carts, providing a safe and maintenance-free non-contact power supply solution for tracked mobile equipment, helping enterprises achieve 24/7 unmanned continuous transportation of RGVs.
