WIRELESS CHARGING IN THE NEWS
According to recent news disclosures, Apple's upcoming new MagSafe wireless chargers (models A3503 and A3502) have been certified. Their biggest highlight lies in their full support for the latest Qi 2.2 wireless charging standard. These two chargers with a white disc shape, equipped with 1-meter and 2-meter braided cables respectively, indicate that the iPhone 17 series is expected to achieve a major breakthrough in wireless charging technology.
Core upgrade highlights
The charging power has been doubled
The Qi 2.2 standard significantly increases the upper limit of wireless charging power from 15W of Qi 2 to 50W. If the iPhone 17 series is adapted, the charging efficiency may reach more than three times that of the current MagSafe solution.
2. Precise optimization of magnetic force
The new standard has improved the magnetic alignment mechanism, which can more accurately adsorb the equipment, reduce energy loss and enhance the overall charging efficiency.
3. Compatibility continues
Qi 2.2 is still backward compatible with older Qi standard devices. Existing users of wireless charging accessories need not worry about adaptation issues.
Practical application outlook
Although the iPhone 17 series is highly likely to support the Qi 2.2 standard, whether it can achieve a peak power of 50W still needs to be verified. Considering Apple's protection strategy for battery life, the actual wireless fast charging rate may have software limitations.
The iPhone 17 series equipped with the brand-new wireless charging technology is scheduled to be released in September. Combined with the simultaneously upgraded 3nm process A19 chip and the 48-megapixel full-focal range imaging system, it may become a key turning point for Apple to move towards a "wireless experience".
