How does AGV wireless charging work? Reveal the AGV car's invisible charging station!

AGV wireless charging is like building an "invisible charging station" for the robot car - no plug, no bare electrodes, when the car passes through a specific area, electricity is quietly injected into the battery. The magic behind this is actually a combination of electromagnetic induction and precision control.

Imagine an AGV with a hidden "power supply point" along its route. These charging stations look like ordinary floors or metal plates, but embedded in the interior are transmitters made of copper coils. When the AGV approaches, the on-board control system will identify the charging area through QR codes, RFID or laser positioning. At this time, the transmitter coil is connected to a high-frequency alternating current, which creates a rapidly changing magnetic field, and the receiving coil at the bottom of the AGV happens to enter this magnetic field range. According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, changes in the magnetic field will cause the receiving coil to generate current, and after rectification and voltage regulation, it can replenish energy for the lithium battery. The whole process is like a space transfer energy package, charging efficiency of up to 95%, comparable to wired charging.

The real secret to making AGV "never lose power" is the design of the charging strategy. In the logistics warehouse, the smart AGV will use every working gap to "steal electricity" : when it waits for the picking robot arm in front of the shelf, the charging plate under the foot can replenish 5% of the electricity in 30 seconds; When passing through the deceleration area at the corner of the channel, the induction belt pressed by the wheel continues to deliver electrical energy. This fragmented charging mode makes the battery always maintain a healthy range of 60%-80%, but extends the battery life more than thorough charging and discharging. In more cutting-edge laboratories, scientists are trying to lay continuous coils on the AGV track to make the car recharge in real time like an electric car driving on a charging road, but this puts higher requirements on electromagnetic shielding and energy transmission stability.

These hidden charging stations hide three dark technologies. The first is millimeter-level positioning technology, AGV through liDAR and vision sensors, can control the deviation between the receiving coil and the transmitting coil within 3 mm, to ensure the best energy transfer efficiency; The second is adaptive power regulation, the system can automatically adjust the magnetic field intensity according to the battery state and charging distance, to avoid energy waste; Finally, intelligent safety protection, when the metal foreign body is detected into the charging area, the system will cut off the power within 0.1 seconds to prevent accidental heating. At present, this technology has been applied to automobile factories, airport freight and other scenarios, such as 200 AGVs in a new energy automobile factory, through 38 invisible charging points to achieve 7×24 hours of uninterrupted operation, reducing manual plugging and charging 120,000 times per year.

In the future, with the breakthrough of magnetic resonance technology, the charging distance is expected to expand from the current 10 cm to 50 cm, and the AGV can even receive electric energy at the bottom of the shelf, the ceiling and other positions. Perhaps in the near future, we will see AGVs "breathing" invisible electrical energy at work, just as naturally as WiFi data transmission, completely bidding farewell to charging anxiety.
